I was just wondering if anyone had any good, unique- yet inexpensive ideas for reception centerpieces. The wedding colors are wine (burgundy), black and white. It'll be an evening reception, semi formal. I am not into HUGE flower things that cover up a huge part of the table so you can't even see the person sitting across from you!

Any ideas would amazing! Oh, and websites too, if possible, so I could see a picture.

Thanks!

I have used this idea for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner centerpieces. You have a few different options.

Choose whether you want a tall and skinny vase, or short and fat vase. I think tall and skinny looks the best.

Fill the vase with fresh cranberries, not packed to tightly, a little more than 3/4 of the way. Fill the vase with water. Top it off with a small floating candle. If you have any cranberries floating, take them out.

The cranberries will give you the "Burgundy" color you are using and the floating candles can either be Burgundy or white. You could also use black candles, but I think that might be a little gloomy. You can also tie off the vase about 1/3 of the way up with a black shimmery ribbon.

This centerpiece will last a couple days, so it is something that can be done the day or two before the wedding.

I noticed one of the answers you received questioned what you would do with the centerpieces after the wedding. My niece gave her centerpieces (except one for herself) to her attendants, both sets of parents, and a couple of people that helped out a lot.

I hope this idea helps. Enjoy your day!!
