Here are some examples of creative and elegant centerpieces:

1. Place a large amount of rock salt on the center of the table. Place neutral colored candles in varying sizes, from pillars to tea lights, in the rock salt. Keep lit the entire reception for a simply elegant look.
2. To enhance an Asian-themed reception use large, clear, square-shaped bowls filled with smooth rocks, a small amount of distilled water and three to four pieces of bamboo in varying heights.
3. To create a stunning look fill a large vase or bowl with distilled water and a large floater candle. Use coordinating flower petals to place around the outside of the vase or bowl.
4. My favorite idea for a rectangular table centerpiece is to take an inexpensive bedroom door mirror and place it down in the center of the table. You can paint to sides of the mirror to coordinate with your wedding colors. Place large and small candles in the same color on the mirror. Sprinkle silver or gold confetti on the mirror once the candles are in place. The effect is both, eye-popping and dramatic. I have used this numerous times on my coffee table at cocktail parties. It’s always a big hit with my guests!

I am having the same issue!! I did an online search for centerpieces. You can search images or just for websites. That will give you some ideas.

I think what we've decided on is hurricane glasses with a burgandy (our color) candle inside in the center of table surrounded by votives (ivory and burgandy).

Another idea we tossed around was getting martini or champange glasses and doing gel candles with them and putting glow sticks in them.

I put that very question on here a week ago, and I've decided to combine a few of the answers. We're putting octagonal mirrors on the table. On top of that, a large fish bowl with either goldfish or a betta fish in it, with colored stones in the bottom that match our colors. I'll float daisy heads on top and place them at random on the mirror and around it, as daisies are our theme.

I've also ordered daisy tea lights and will float them in clear votive holders at random around the centerpiece.

I've already secured good homes for the fishies for afterward.

I had a fall/country themed wedding and we had kerosene lanterns surrounded by all sorts of fall fruits, nuts, gourds, and fall colored rose petals. We used persimmons and pomegranates and in the shell walnuts and pecans. We also bought some funky looking gourds and mini pumpkins. We cut open the mini pumpkins and gutted them and put tea lights in them. We also use the left over rose petals from the flower girl (we had way to many) and sprinkled them around the table. It was really pretty.

Hi! I have a website called http://www.myfloralarrangements.com and my Party Drink Collection floral arrangements are very popular for wedding reception centerpieces. Some use just a few of them for the "most important" tables and then do something smaller for the others and I've also had larger orders for entire banquet rooms. They can be made in any color(s) you'd like. Just a though…

If you are planning to make your own centerpieces, the link below is a good site for ideas and inexpensive supplies. I have gotten a few ideas from this company and plan to order from them very soon.
With a hot glue gun and some inexpensive greenery, you can create anything that will be absolutely beautiful! (Why pay too much when you can do-it-yourself? Provided, of course, you have enough time and energy to spare!)
You can also find battery operated "twinkle" lights at most craft stores~which would look beautiful woven through ivy and wrapped around a candle burning inside a hurricane lamp.
    Hope my suggestion helps!
(Also~if you use the little "fish-in-bowl" idea, make sure you ask the retailer if you can bring them back when your wedding is over!)

I am having crystal ice buckets, which we purchased from our local Ross store and each table will have an ice bucket and then 2 small crystal planters with floating candles. The ice bucket will have the toasting champagne with ice and some lights inside to bring out the crystal. Our tables will be set with a charger plate and silverware and water goblets, and mints. We wanted simple but yet elegant.
