My wedding is in mid-September and I'm clueless to centerpieces. I want something unique, different pieces for the tables would be great too. My color is canary yellow and I love sunflowers.

I think you partly answered your own question! Use sunflowers – they’re pretty, they brighten everything up, and they feel like fall without bringing Thanksgiving to mind. Use some big vases to put bunches of sunflowers in around the reception area. On the tables, you could get either low bowls/vases, or small containers that you can put in baskets or buckets, and fill them with sunflowers. The website below has a BEAUTIFUL picture of a centerpiece of a bunch of flowers in a old-looking green pail, with sunflowers, begonias, roses, greenery (lady’s mantle?) and some other things – they would look AMAZING at an outdoor wedding. (You might have to register with The Knot to see it if you haven’t already – if you haven’t and don’t want to, e-mail me and I can send the picture). If you wanted something more formal, put white hydrangeas and yellow roses in fish-bowl type containers, and put tons of white tealights and tapers all around. Good luck, and congratulations!

squash, seriously I saw it on Martha Stewart. You can use the squash to put flowers in. Then you can have long rectangular tables instead of round tables, you'll save money. Good luck and congrats!

This past October I went to a wedding where they had carved their monogram into pumpkins. Very cute!

since the leaves are changing around that time… you can go and get some fake leaves as the center pieces and put a off white candel in the middle of them. or even have all the girls/bridesmaids carrying fall looking colored boutiques. :D my friend had an october wedding adn they did the colored boutiques and looked great. :D good luck.. :P
