Bridesmaid Gifts at The Knot Wedding Shop

Both need to be relatively inexpensive. I have 100 guests and 10 tables. I would like to do pink and silver for my colors but I also like pink and green. Please help.

seed packets - you can make home-made labels with some cute quotes:

Love Blooms!

Plant the seed, harvest the dream.

…so that the joy of our day may linger in your garden.

May the joy of our day linger.

"Love is like wildflowers. It is oftne found in the most unlikely places." Author unknown

"Much more grows in the garden than that which is planted there." Japanese proverb

"I have a garden of my own…Shining with flowers of every hue. I loved it dearly while alone but I shall love it more with you." Thomas Moore

My son and his wife did bubbles and then a book mark with a prayer on it for favors. These went over really well and were not expensive.

Ah, Spring…daffodils, tulips, crocus, and daisies come to mind, but those aren't your colors, unless you use pink tulips with silver cord or pink tulips with lots of greenery…how about lions and lambs, as March has always been signified by the adage "In like a lion, out like a lamb". For favors, how about pink and silver Hershey Kisses? You can custom order your colors (and the strip of ribbon that opens them) at http://www.hersheys.com…..you could have the bride and groom's names and the date printed on the strip of ribbon–Hershey's does do this, although this in on the expensive side, too…*sigh* Can't think of anything that would be relatively inexpensive, but hope these ideas push you in the right direction for what you want…..

    What about…
A 9-12" Glass Vase filled with pink sand, petals, or plastic gems and a pillar candle placed in the middle. Around the outside of the vase, tie a satin ribbon -your other color– and place all on top of a square or round mirror. It would also look nice to have 2-4 votive candles placed around with rose petals or the plastic gems.

    And for favors…
Look into the chinese take out boxes (www.uline.com)–they are $16 for 100. Fill them with shredded filler and place candies in them. Make a tag (using sticker paper) with your names and wedding date on them, tie a satin ribbon around the box and adhere the tag on top of the ribbon. REALLY INEXPENSIVE.

    or

Purchase small cellophane bags and ribbon and fill the small bags with cotton candy in your colors. Tie the cellophane bag with ribbon and add a tag with your names and wedding date. I am doing this for a June wedding (this is the couples favorite snack) and it is costing a total of $50 dollars for 130 people. You can purchase the cotton candy from your local snack shop in the mall or at a grocery store.

    Hope any of this helps.

How about 2 or 3 pink gerber daisies in a vase that has a silver bow tied around it? Another good idea is to have the gerber daisies I mentioned on 5 tables and a candle and candle holder sitting on top of a small square mirror on the other 5 tables.

Good luck with your wedding and marriage!

I was at a wedding recently and all of the girls got a single flower. It really made all the older ladies happy and the younger girls. No one really cares about the favors anyway. So skipping the boys is not a big deal. Trust me after waiting on dozens of wedding you have no idea how many favors are left on the tables to be thrown away.

how about floating candles? they are always pretty. check out surroundings.com for some ideas. i used this site and used the hour glass shaped floating candle bowl. i also found some really cheap votive candles with holders on another site. i cant think of what it was called. i also used freez dried rose petals on the tables. you could find these for cheaper at michales. for favors i just bought tealight candles which are fairly cheap, and used tulle in our colors (hunter green and white) to wrap them in. i glued on printed ribbon as well.

If you don't mind doing alittle work for the favors, go to a fabric store (or even Walmart) and buy netting for about $1.00 per yard, and get boxes of butter mints, and ribbon, at around .88 cents a spool, cut the netting, put a few mints in it, and tie it with the ribbon, your guests will appreciate a favor they will actually use to freshen their breath after dinner, just put them, one per place setting right on the tables.

This may sound odd but I love the idea of unique decorations. March is in spring which is known for rain so I think rain goulashes or any rubber boots, which come in great colors and designs would be perfect and totally fun "vases" for the centerpieces filled with Gerber daisies or tulips. These could be purchased in the children's department of a Kmart or target. For ten tables you would need five pairs which may cost fifty dollars or so. The favors could continue the spring theme by having little seed packets and attach a cute poem a poem about seeds of love or "grow with us". it is a cute idea but it may not go with the formality of your wedding, could be a great shower idea though.
