Are betta fish expensive? Can someone give me an estimate price please?

I was thinkin in using betta fishes for my wedding center pieces and I want to put a flower inside and a floating candle on top would that harm the fish?? anyway Im having trouble picking the bridesmaids color of dress and the color of flowers does everything have to match. Please help. Any ideas???

Bettas aren't too expensive (a few bucks each depending where you buy them). The floating candles won't harm them (it's not as if the fish can catch fire right?) . Bettas are hardy fish, but extremely sensitive to cold. We were given a betta fish in a vase with one of those water plants in it as a gift at a rehearsal dinner. I was so excited to have a new little pet. Anyway, we left the vase in the car overnight (the wedding was out of town so we were staying at a hotel) and apparently it got a little chilly that night. The poor little guy was floating the next day. Anyway…it's a cute idea, just makes sure they have a home to go to after the wedding. Don't want to have the ASPCA after you! As to your second question. No, everything doesn't have to "match", but it should coordinate. For example…if your bridesmaids dressed are blue, I wouldn't pick all blue flowers, but maybe a centerpiece which has a touch of blue here and there. Good luck..hope this helps!

Edit: By the way…don't put more than one male in each display…they will kill each other. Little bits of dead fish aren't too romantic.
