   You can always use wedding bells and lace for the top of the cake. It's always elegant and usually inexpensive.

   i once attended a wedding where the center piece were fruit and flowers. you can use a cornucopia or sorts. things like apples, grapes and what not. it was a colorful and unique centerpiece and the guests had something to munch on while the waited for the festivities to start.

   Ah… we have 400 people invited and these are my ideas:
   1. buy a couple wholesale cases of vases, buy flameless tealights and fill them with those clear colored rocks and place the light inside (it provides a fire-free way to look like a candle) Then put flowers/branches coming out of the vase- it looks like light-up flowers, really beautiful…

   2. Get plastic cake stands for each table and put a candle on the top (there are flameless larger candles you can get as well) then put 2 or 3 different colored flowers around the two bottom tiers. It looks like a cake with a candle on the top, and it gorgeous!

   3. Order large flat-bowls (glass) and do floating flowers and candles- gives a nice ambiance for a night time wedding

   You can do something really simple that applies to your ethicity, because the women blow conch shells, and rings bells, you can make your center peices with bells for the guests to ring whenever they want to, You can put these bells on a silver plate.

   Or another idea, you can put a nice glass bowl with ornaments and saris in there.
