We are hosting a surprise anniversary party for my In-Laws. Since it is the 30th, we are going with a pearl theme. The party is going to be a semi-formal/formal black and white party. Does anyone have suggestions for centerpieces or food? We are planning on a tiered cake.

2009 Mar 02 2I personally , would go with small petite finger foods.. mini sandwich's ..buns or bread.. mini bbq.meatballs.. and of course..bacon wrapped water chestnuts…with bbq.sauce…. bring plenty of napkins … it would be fun. Or you could do mini racks of ribs…. with a lil hot wings and ranch dressing. see ya Jim

2009 Mar 02 3Play music from their era. Maybe they have some favorite love songs or find out what they danced to on "The First Dance" at their wedding. Back ground music always makes the atmosphere really nice. To save money have a family member be the Disc Jockey.

2009 Mar 02 4If you are having a tiered cake, I would go with a lighter meal. Maybe soups, salad and bread. Or finger foods and hors d'oeuvres. You could have a slide show to their song. Dancing would be nice, too.
