i like the second pic in the first row with the carnations i was thinking about submerging branches in water. My question is how far ahead of time can one put carnations on a flora foam ( since they are Pretty hardy)? Or if you are a florist how much would this centerpiece cost. I am torn between doing center piece myself ( with my gF ) or paying someone. For all of my fiends we have always made the centerpieces however i am the last to get married and they all have babies, full time jobs etc.. SO i am scared to depend on them so i am in a toss up. The hall was half off so i am thinking about going the florist route. I do not know also my job is so tough t i do not have the time off to go meet with florist after florist and i do not know a good one from a bad one in this area. I am in the MD//DC area it is so expensive.
I would get some prices from florists and then get prices from wholesalers and see if you can afford the florist just to reducre the stress factor. However, they don’t look that difficult and since you seem to know your stuff you could try making one and see if you think they are worth the time/money to do yourself. You can put carnations in oasis up to 3 days ahead of time if you can keep them in the cooler so you could start ahead of time.
Good luck!

2009 Feb 02 2I agree that the best thing to do is to just purchase enough materials to make one to see if you are comfortable doing it. They are very easy to make and my opinion is you should never be scared when working with flowers. They are beautiful naturally and it’s very hard to screw them up.
See the article at the link below for more advice on flowers.
