Wedding Coordinator, a Flexible Role
03 Feb 2009
A wedding is always going to be a major feat of planning and these days, even a relatively simple wedding can get out of hand and end up costing thousands. You can easily get hooked on the newest trends and try to have it all. Well, if you are going down that route, why go the whole hog and employ a wedding consultant.
It may not seem logical to add another expense to the list, but have you considered that it could save you money in the long run? With her business contacts, she can probably strike better deals than you could get on your own. She will be giving them a lot of business and they won’t want to lose that.
At least, she can help you with a timeline so that you know when to begin the planning and when to arrange the services you will need. And a really good wedding consultant will be able to come up with something that you are happy with and is on budget.
If you are teeming with ideas but you can’t organize or you just don’t have a clue, your planner can come to your aid. The creative input is nice, but what about all the dull details? Listing the things that go towards making a wedding can be quite frightening.
If your budget will stretch, you can let your wedding consultant do the whole thing. She can work through her checklist, making sure that each item has been considered and your opinion sought, and then you can safely leave it in her capable hands. Nothing will be left to chance and it will all be coordinated tol come together on the big day.
However, the scope of the wedding planning service is flexible, with the level of involvement being reflected in the cost. Sure, it would be marvellous to pass it all over to somebody else and drop the stress, but that would be the more costly option. The couple can decide with the consultant what her level of involvement will be.
There may be some elements of the planning where you would like to take a more hands on approach. Maybe you have contacts in the catering industry and can to arrange that for yourself. You may be capable of doing most of the practical organization and just use your consultant for creative ideas, choosing a theme, planning decoration etc.
As a minimum, she can prepare a timeline and a checklist so that you know when to start planning and when to contact the companes you require. Even this amount of input could be a great contribution to a wedding day that you will remember for good reasons.
