There is a lot to be said for making a wedding a lavish affair, certainly it should be a day to remember for the rest of your lives together, but 3 million Dollars on one day? It certainly is making an event something extra special. The wedding that took place in December is now the most expensive wedding ever held in Australia.
The place for the pair’s special day was the Crown casino, which is well known in Australia for being THE place to hold any sort of party and there was no exception with the wedding of Dr Geoffrey Edelstein and Brynne Gordon. With a price tag set at around 3 million Dollars, it was certainly a wedding day fit for a king. Some of the biggest tv, football and television names in the business attended the wedding, with the guest list totalling over 550. The wedding was hosted by actress Fran Dreisher and actor Jason Alexander.
Crown Casino is located in Melbourne on the south bank of the Yarra River. The casino attracts around 16 million guests every year and this makes the location the biggest casino in Australia. The casino has been open since 1994 and even from it’s opening night has been right in the spotlight as Rachel Griffiths made sure they were in the news as she decided to streak through the casino!
The bride may have looked a bit baffled with the many faces that she didn’t know in the guest crowd, she told reporters that she only actually knew about twenty of the guests! The groom used to own an AFL team, he is currently a doctor and can boast that he is one of the richest men in Australia. The 66 year old groom was understandably all smiles as his 26 year old bride waltzed down the aisle in a gown made of ivory and with her diamond accessories totalling over half a million dollars. The Crown Casino has seen its share of public events and it is noted for making dreams come true, but this weekend will stand out as one of the most extravagant marital ceremonies ever in OZ.
Let’s hope that the groom, if he’s a poker player gets Rakeback from his online game. It looks like he has a mountain to climb to keep his wife in her expensive jewellery, so perhaps he could try Everest Poker or maybe try his hand at Party Poker.To keep his new wife happy, I should think he will be needing quite a lot of cash, so best he plays as many games as possible!
