Bridesmaid Gifts at The Knot Wedding Shop

At an age when most young women have just escaped college or their high school days, many young ladies with no party planning experience are planning the most important day of their lives – their weddings. Not only are these young brides planning the most important day of their lives with little to no party planning experience, brides are also doing it with strict budgets or debt. If you are facing the issues of how to plan a wedding and aren’t quite sure even where to start, you are not alone. Most brides are lost when they start learning how to plan wedding. I remember how difficult it was to learn how to plan a wedding myself, with so many vendors and things to keep track of. So when I was considering how to plan a wedding, I made some pretty bad decisions. Here are a few of the choices I wish I could do over again the right way.

Starting to Plan – How to Plan a Wedding

When I first started planning my wedding, the first thing I did was to come up with a wedding date and go check out reception venues and book our church for the date. Turns out, I made one of the classic mistakes when they start planning their wedding. Instead of booking locations, brides should start with a wedding budget first and a rough guest list. Coming up with a budget and guest list may be tedious, but it’s also so important. Find out who is planning to contribute what towards your wedding, and then allot for the different things you want in your wedding. Coming up with a rough guest list is so that you can make wise decisions on just how many people could be showing up for your wedding. So, it’s pointless and a money waster if you put a deposit on a reception and ceremony venues that hold 500 if you only have 150 on the guest list. It only makes sense for you to do your due diligence before spending anything.

Planning Your Wedding – And Not Get Taken

Another thing that brides need to worry about is dealing with the right kinds of wedding vendors. There are somewedding vendors out there who assume that they can overcharge for their services just because they work in the wedding industry. The fact is, many wedding vendors know that most brides don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to planning a wedding and don’t know how much their services should cost. So do your research.

Whatever you do, don’t get discouraged. Learn to negotiate for the prices that you feel comfortable paying, and where to go to find better prices when the wedding vendors in your town won’t work with you. It’s not impossible to have your dream wedding on a small budget if you know where to look.
