Bridesmaid Gifts at The Knot Wedding Shop

My wedding colors are navy blue and light pink. I'm looking for something that will be simple, but look nice and not cost a lot. Any ideas?

We are going to have floating candles. A nice looking bowl sitting on a mirror with water and floating candles. My future mother-in-law suggested having one candle in each bowl with flower petals also floating in the water.

I wanted to do centerpieces that don't contain (a lot of) flowers, and found some great ideas on the knot:

One word-CANDLES, lots and lots of candles, all shapes and sizes and colors if you like, and mirrors on the table. that is all you need to give a room a cozy, romantic, elegant feel.

You can also use tall vases and fill them with water and submerge a single flower in in, like an orchid, or some other long flower. i think orchids lookthe best in the water tho due to the petals. Congrats and good luck!

Try a clear vase with blue or pink or both colors marbles in the bottom with a pretty redish or blueish color beta fish swimming in the vase. I did that for a friends wedding a few months ago and people loved it. It was very cheap to do. Got a big bag of marbles from walmart (4.00) enough to do 8 vases, 8 beta fish from walmart (8.00) and the vases were all different shapes (from a yard sale and thrift store (5.00) I got some nice green plant from the local nursey (which they were going to throw away). The fish actually helps the plant grow. If you would like a picture let me know and I will take one for you.

candles are fabulous but just quickly check with your venue first - many insurance companies are now refusing to cover any damage by open flames, ie candles. as a result venues aren't allowing them.if you are allowed candles then use white or cream pillar candles in a hurricane lamp vase. simple and elegant. the candle is inside and protected. i wouldn't put mirror tiles under them - allow them to stand alone for a very classic look! if you aren't allowed real candles then you can substitute the flameless candles in the hurricane vase.

if candles aren't appealing to you then you could have clear glass shallow bowls filled with werthers candies - their gold foil wrapping sparkles very prettily. you could use lindt chocolates instead of werthers, they are individually wrapped as well, in a variety of color foils and look very nice as well. the nice thing about doing the candy thing is you can put a pretty little bag or those cute little take-away box at each place setting and your guests can help themselves to the candy. one bag of werthers is about eleven dollars and is easily enough candy for ten people or so! very inexpensive solution to both the centerpiece and the favour issues!
whatever you choose your wedding will be a great one - happy wedding sweetie and merry christmas!

My colors were simple - hot pink and silver. I used the in house flowers at the reception hall - however, I had these super cute table numbers made for the center pieces. They were great and really made a splash.
