2009 Feb 02 2http://www.Orientaltrading.com has very inexpensive wedding and other party items. (Oriental Trading Company). You can also find the rose petals at a Dollar Store.

2009 Feb 02 3I'm sorry, but I just wanted to mention that many places do not allow lit candles on tables. That's just something to ask about before you get your heart set on. I think it sounds lovely.

2009 Feb 02 4As someone mentioned you might want to re think the candles or at least leave them unlit. Many places will not allow you to have open flame as in lit candles and the simplest accident can become a huge tragedy in seconds with candles lit on tables.
I made such a centerpiece for a neice. I took a styrofoam disk the size I wanted and then glued half of a syrofoam ball to the center. I made a hole for the candle and then covered the whole thing in glue. When the glue was tacky I put rose petals, the fake ones, all over the piece, I layered them twice so it would look nice and full. I put a little bride and groom on them as if they were standing in a rose garden and I think I had them under a little arch. I then added glitter in the right color and candles in the right color and there it was. Came out pretty nice and many people asked me where I got them.

2009 Feb 02 5Are you into doing crafts at all? You could hot glue rose petals around a votive holder – these are really pretty – lots better than pic. Here's a (slow loading) site about it

You could always use the battery operated tealights if place doesn't allow candles.

2009 Feb 02 6Hi and congratulations!
The look you want is both elegant and easy! For some reason I cannot find the picture I want now…but I saw one that was so easy…
~ Simply put down on the table about 5 votives in a staggered pattern (not all in a row)…more like how a "W" looks. Then scatter petals all around it so it looks like they are laying on a "bed" of rose petals.
~ Place a mirror in the center of the table….put some votives on top and scatter some rose petals.
~ Place a mirror on the table, get a round glass bowl and put in some "rose" floating candles….then scatter petals around the bowl.
Simply use Google to look for ideas. There are tons of ideas with this centerpiece. One good website is:

Good luck!

2009 Feb 02 7Some places will not let you have lit candles on a table except if it the main table but it depend. Oriental Trading have candles that works on batteries and some that look lited. You can simiply get the candles and do not light them but what's the point in that.

2009 Feb 02 8Get a cool colored glass bowl and fill it with petals, put four candles around the bowl so it makes an imaginary square. Over flow the petals so they go in between the spaces between the candles.
