I'm throwing a renewal ceremony and reception for my parent's anniversary. But I've never done this before and I am on a budget (aren't we all). Just wanted to know if any of you have ideas on cheap centerpieces (either done at weddings or parties). It's their 40th which is ruby, maybe something with red in it?
Red votive containers with tealights in them on a small piece of mirror. Red votive cups can be found at WalMart and Michaels (sometimes Big Lots) for right around 99 cents. Piece of mirror with beveled edges can be found at Michaels for $1.99 and bag of tea lights 100 for $3.99 at Big Lots. Five clustered looks just stunning and each one is under $10.

We are serving a buffet style informal dinner at the local community center following the ceremony.
Use red, white, and blue tablecloths and for centerpieces, get Eagle Wrapping paper and wrap boxes with it. Poke a tiny hole in the top and insert little American Flags in there. You can also find old popcorn tins and do the same thing that way.
Edible too?
Take disposable plastic bowls and fill them with mints or m&m's. Punch the flags through the bowls into the bottom "present" wrapped with the Eagle paper.

I’m throwing a 40th birthday party for my husband and his twin brother in a banquet hall , the theme is the 80’s . I want to cut cost and make the centerpieces myself but I don’t have any ideas .. I would like balloons on top of it not flowers ..But I can’t find any good web site to guide me ..Please if you know of any cool centerpiece that is easy to make I will really apreciate you share it with me . Thanks
I don’t think this would cut costs, but incorporating some of the fad items from the 80’s in your centerpieces would be fun. Rubiks cubes, Legos, Hot-Wheels, Mad-Libs, Garbage Pale Kids, Transformers…..

i have my 23rd bday coming up and i was going to do hot pink flowers in the middle of the table but cant do that now and i need good ideas. its in a nightclub lounge and its for people in their early 20's. the colors are hot pink, black and white. the table clothes are black (theres only 6 tables in the lounge that we need to decorate) and its not a sit down meal.
all i could think of was to fill a glass with white acrylic ice beads in a jar, put some of those flashing lights in the jar with it and put how pink faux flowers on top…please help me
i tried googling ideas and nothing caught my eye
Silk hot pink flowers with black leaves, flat dish with the acrylic ice beads in it, make the flowers floating sort of in the glass dish. Put a mirror under and run the battery powered white lights around the bottom of the dish. This will reflect up through the beads in the bowl and also make weird shadows above.
Best centerpieces are low and fairly small, about 9 inches or so across so the guests can visit over the tops of them and they don't take up too much space on the table. But if the tables are those 60 inch across ones, then you can have a larger diameter centerpiece.
But the average lounge table is about 36 inches across or less.
