Bridesmaid Gifts at The Knot Wedding Shop

I want to make my own for me and my bridesmaid to save money but i’m not much of a crafty person. Know any easy ones to make. I’m going to buy flowers wholesale and make my own bouquets and centerpieces. Please Help!!!

One of my bridesmaids and I made our bouquets. It was pretty darn easy! Here’s my suggestions:

1. Get a couple dozen roses or whatever flowers you want ahead of time, and practice (believe me, the peace of mind is worth it). You can get a good idea of how long it’ll take, and how much help you’ll need.

2. Order your flowers in bulk from a reputable place. I did bulk roses from Costco.com. Or, you can just order them (unarranged) from a local florist and pick them up the day before the wedding.

3. Use the guidelines on eHow (link below). I followed these directions almost exactly, and my bouquets looked great! The only change I made was with the ribbon. Instead of tying the ends in a bow, I just folded them under and secured with pearl bouttoniere pins (just stick them straight into the bundle of stems). Viola!

Good luck, and kudos to you for saving money on your wedding! I was shocked when the florists tried to charge me $160 for a handheld bouquet. They hear the word “wedding,” and they automatically charge triple! I ended up spending $150 for 125 roses, which made 5 handheld bouquets and a bunch of extra centerpieces.

Unless you have a refrigerator to store them in until the wedding, you might want to look at some online places that will deliver the bouquets.

Proflowers.com and Costco both offer bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. for a reasonable price.

I helped make 9 bridesmaids bouquets, and 20+ boutonnieres last year for my nieces wedding. We ended up having to store them in ice chests because the commercial refrigerator we were supposed to be able to use was broken.

Depends on the type of wedding your having. If it’s casual, you can get a bunch of wildflower type stems and you can tie them with raffia. If it’s semi or formal, get long stemed flowers, get florists tape, and ribbon to match your wedding colors. Take the flowers and arrange from the inside out then wrap all the flowers in floral tape. Wrap the ribbon around and use the little pins with pearls on the head at the top. Put them in the fridge and voila, wedding boquets.

    How to video afloral.com
    Dropship wholesalers
    americanfloraldistributors.com
    growersbox.com
    rosesource.com
    globalrose.com
Buying flowers from drop shipper arrive 2-3 days before wedding you need to immediately place in 5 gal buckets of water with floralife for 24 hrs to begin to open(they are usually shipped tight bud) in a cool but not drafty area 60-65 degrees works well a small bath with the air on works for us.
for general info 200 roses.filler(baby’s breath.2nd flower, million star etc),greenery will do the following
Bride 12-18 roses +filler and greenery
4-6 Maids 6-8 roses+filler and greens per bouquet
4 corsages for mothers and grands 4-5 blossoms per corsage
Grooms bout 1 rose + filler for each of the men
    4 fathers bouts
    4-6 groomsmen
4-6 centerpieces 8-12 blossoms, fillers and greenery each
1-2 church pieces of 10-12 blossoms, fillers, and greenery each.
1 small toss bouquet with left overs.
adding lilies, gladiolas, peonies mums or other fairly large blossom will require fewer blossoms per bouquet due to size considerations. asiatic lilies hold up well but rubrum lilies need special stem wrap to keep from staining gowns.(put out a staining fluid from stems). Tulips have to be wired and a drop of wax or floral glue on the back underneath to make sure petals stay in place. remove thorns from roses before using. Let me know if I can help further. Good luck with the project You can do it! (might want to do some practice ones with flowers from grocery first.)
Do not store finished flowers in frig to cold, put back in your cool room with the air on. Finished bouquets need to be placed in glasses weighted with rice, dried beans or marbles, to keep upright and protect from bruising.. Bouts and corsages can be pinned to a towel that is safety pinned around t shower rod to prevent falling off.
