My sister is getting married and I am throwing her bridal shower next month. I went to the Xmas Tree shop and got HUGE martini glasses. Now I am stuck on what to fill them with?? We wanted to keep a babyblue and brown theme, but I am not sure if I can tie that in with the centerpieces. Any cute, fun, inexpensive ideas for fillers? I have thought about candles, flowers etc..but wanted to think of something a little different? I would appreciate ANY suggestions! Happy Summer ![]()
special order baby blue and brown M&Ms through their website…or use beads, like the ones you put around your neck on Mardi Gras. and have them flow over the glasses. what about confetti? maybe little teenie bowties blue and brown, and dyed blue sand you can find in the little kid sand kits. pacifiers? mini toy baby bottles? most of the stuff you can find at any art and craft store! Dollar stores have great stuff for parties and filler ideas. Hope this helps! ~hillary.

2009 Feb 04 1How about baby blue and brown jelly beans? They have them in bins at our Target and Meijer. I'm sure any candy shop would have them. Then it could be pretty and people could munch out of them.

2009 Feb 04 2Why not fill it with water and paint a small size ball olive? Then you have BIG Martini's! I think it is cute and a celebrative idea.

2009 Feb 04 3I am using a margarita glass for my centerpiece! Here is what I am doing:
Get clear glass gems from the craft store (ordering online increases expense due to shipping cost) – scroll down to "glass gems" on this site to see what I am talking about: http://www.surroundings.com/order.cgi?cart_id=&page=glassgems.html
THEN put a submersible blue floralyte amid the gems. This site has the best price I found:
http://www.flowersandsupplies.com/Submersible-Floralytes_p_4-5.html
Add water and float candles or a flower (i'm floating a gerbera daisy).
This page shows you how cool those floralytes can look: http://codwholesale.com/acolyte.htm
Edit: you don't even have to float anything in the centerpieces, you could tie a brown ribbon around the base of the glass.
another option would be to buy blue glass gems and skip the light.

2009 Feb 04 6Maybe blue, brown and clear gems? You could try to find some that are cut in the shape of diamonds.
Maybe fish? You could try to find betta that are blue or brown.

2009 Feb 04 7What about a beta fish? You could get brown glass rocks to fill the bottom and find the prettiest blue fish that the store has and put that in it.
You could get something brown like spiky sticks, or something they have at every craft/hobby store, and put some pretty blue fake or real flowers in it.
you could use it to put the return address envelopes in. When people write their address on the Thank You envelopes for the bride and she pulls them out to win prizes, she could pull them from that. it could sit in the center of the brides table.
Good Luck, have fun!

2009 Feb 04 8If you can have each glass be a different flavor martini, just put something there to get the martini out of the glass. each glass should serve maybe 5 people.
just a thought!
